Dr. Walt Karniski
Dr. Walt Karniski has more than 30 years experience in pediatrics, child development, and child advocacy. A board-certified developmental pediatrician, he has published numerous articles and papers in the field. Following his initial training with
Dr. Mel Levine at the
Children’s Hospital in Boston, Dr. Karniski became the Director of Child Development at
All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL, and then the Director of the Division of Child Development at the University of South Florida’s College of Medicine until 1993. In 1997, he established the Florida Children’s Center, a multi-disciplinary program for the evaluation and treatment of children with Learning Disabilities and Attention Deficit Disorder. As Executive Director with
American Education Group, Dr. Karniski utilized the education model of Tampa Day School to open Lexis Preparatory Schools in Scottsdale, AZ, and Las Vegas, NV. He was the founding director of
Tampa Day School as well as Bowman Academy and Keystone Preparatory School, a high school for students with atypical learning styles.
Jen Hayes
A psychology grad, Jen has worked in marketing for almost a decade, in various disciplines, in the U.S. and U.K. At American Education Group, she primarily focuses on writing and editing, expressing her passion for education through the medium of words.
Jen believes in the power of education, but that there is a desperate need for change in our current system – that we must rethink education. As a mother, she understands the profound responsibility we each take as parents in making choices for our children, hoping that we are doing what is best for them.
